It's difficult to add anything new to what is already there on the Internet. So just some links with our comments.
Reference, Cities, Miscellaneous ...
Country Reference | ||
CIA -World Fact Book | Pros:
CIA knows it's job. Cons: Do you always believe CIA? Unfortunately KGB does not have something like this to compare. |
|
World Desk Reference | Pros:
One more short but comprehensive Belarus reference. Cons: No so far. |
|
Belarus' Mission at UN | Pros:
Unexpectedly interesting. A good addition to CIA page. Cons: Official interpretation of facts and events is always a bit suspicious. |
|
Cultural and Educational Profile of Belarus | Pros:
One more individual effort. Lots of information and links. Good structured. Cons: Well? No so far. |
|
European Forum | Pros:
One more comprehensive source of information about Belarus. Economics, Politics
and a lot more. Cons: Seems to be a bit outdated. |
|
Cities and regions | ||

Cities, regions, everything. Nice design, easy to navigate. No water,
just the stuff. Cons: No so far. |
|
Brest on line |
|
Pros:
A nice site about Brest. Regional news, pictures, maps. Relatively
fast, provides additional services. Cons: No Russian version. |
Bresttelecom. City site | Pros:
Not so commercially looking, contains a lot of information. A good
place for first time visitors. Has English version. Cons: I might be biased, but the design could have been better. |
|
Brest
region portal |
|
Pros: Brest
Region Council official site. Professional, easy to use, informative. Has
English version. Cons: Well, that's official site. |
Bobruisk City Site | Pros:
Not a bad idea and implementation. Cons: Not mush info as yet, some dead links, not everything announced works. |
|
Borisov City Portal | Pros: Just
a good city portal. News, information etc. Cons: Only in Russian. |
|
E-Gomel | Pros:

|
Miscellaneous | ||
A Belarus Miscellany | Pros:
A very very substantial individual effort. Lots of information and
links. This American seems to care more for Belarus then some of native
Belarusians. Cons: A bit difficult to navigate. The author still believes that what is known as Belarusian Opposition is a better choice for Belarus. |
|
Children of Chernobyl | Pros:
Surprisingly, but it's one of the best collections of the real life
information and images from and about Belarus. Cons: No so far. |
|
Virtual guide to Belarus | Pros:
Vast collection of links. Looks as if you might dig out something interesting
if you are patient enough. Cons: Difficult to navigate, not frequently updated. Politically engaged. |
